Choosing a hotel in Madrid

How to choose a hotel in Madrid
Living in Madrid is worth it so that later it will not hurt for a purposeless vacation. Although the criteria for a good holiday are different for everyone, the reservation systems issue the same hotels, not taking into account individual preferences. So the Internet is full of indignant reviews. It is too noisy at night on La Latina and Sol, it is too empty and far from the museums on Charmartin and eternal: too close to the airport – from the poor fellow, for some reason settled near Barajas.

where to stay in Madrid choose a hotel in Madrid In order not to regret the choice, figure out why you are going to the Spanish capital. Go shopping – bars – visit museums and parks? You to the area of Sol, Gran Via, Atochi. Life is in full swing around the clock. Yes, this is a rather noisy place, Spaniards and tourists walk until five in the morning, but you are not going to sit at home after eight in the evening, either?

If you want to relax without a fuss on a trip, take a look at the Retiro district and the National Library. It is much quieter, and you can rent spacious apartments with windows to the park, and in the morning enjoy the view and fresh air with a cup of coffee on the balcony.

Apartments in the historic center of Arenal or Plaza Mayor will be smaller and more expensive, but closer to Cort Ingles, one of Madrid’s largest and most inexpensive supermarkets, and the main attractions of the old districts of the capital are within easy reach.

Fans of radial trips should decide on the direction of excursions. Madrid has three major stations – Atocha, Principe Pio and Charmarten, and if your journey lies south and west, it is better to base closer to Atocha, and if the trips are mainly northern or northeastern, then you need to live next to Charmarten. From the train station to Principle Pio, trains leave for a number of northern districts, but living next to it is not worth it – the district is poor, in the evenings prostitutes and dealers hang out on the streets, and during the day there are a lot of homeless people and unemployed people.

The question of trips to nearby cities, which are located 50-80 kilometers from the capital and have actually become the sleeping and suburban areas of Madrid, is solved simply – go to them by commuter trains. Cercanias routes often intersect with the metro and circle around the center, so you don’t need to settle in a special area if you want to see Aranjuez, Guadalajara and Escorial.

Another thing, if you need to entertain in Madrid a child, one or more. Here you have to choose – live closer to Faunia or Amusement Park? Or maybe rent an apartment near the Zoo? Or choose a hotel that is convenient to get to the Warner Bros. amusement park? But there is also Retiro with such clever playgrounds that our children in the first five minutes fall from such swings and “climbers” into a stupor, and then you can’t drag them out with a tractor, either the Planetarium or IMAX …

Yes, perhaps, if you have to walk around Madrid with a child, you should live either in the center to be able to walk longer along the streets of the old city, or settle next to the Amusement Park, because here you can not only ride and see animals in the Zoo, but also take a walk through the vast Campo Natural Park. Here, almost in the very center of Madrid, the Spaniards, who adore nature, have preserved and carefully restored several hectares of land with forests by streams and paths, which are crossed by pedestrians and cyclists. And in the midst of a bustling capital, hundreds of wild hares, jays, doves, grouse, and other inhabitants of the Spanish forest-steppe live and feel at ease.

But do not think that getting out of the park will be difficult – from the center of Campo you can easily get to the noisy Madrid squares. The Teleferik cableway will take you to Montagna Park, almost to the Arguelles Metro Station, from where you can easily reach Templo Debod, Sabatini Gardens and Real Palace, over a 2.5-kilometer ride over the hills and the river. You can get to the center without Teleferik, from the Amusement Park by subway – the Botan and Campo stations.

If you are going to Madrid to shop, you will have to decide on the goal: which is better – arrange a raid on one of the outlets or just wander around the shops in the center? Outlets, of course, are cheaper, but far from always boasting a full size range or color scheme of goods. But every third store in Madrid is full of inscriptions “discounts” and a sale, and here you can already find all sizes, colors and shapes, the main thing is that luck smiles. If you ask fans of the “flea markets” of Madrid what can be unearthed at the local ruins, you will be mesmerized by such colorful examples that you can wake up when booking a ticket, or even at the airport, at the check-in. In short, such treasures will not be found in the Marais quarter in Paris: the chests of local grandmothers outdid the wardrobes of Parisian grandfathers. So for those who come to the capital of Spain for shopping, the main thing in choosing a hotel is to find out if there is a free shuttle to the airport, because a taxi for all these suitcases after a week of shopping in Madrid has to call a truck.
